I just received my "fat envelope" from the jurors of the Dallas Area Fiber Artists annual show, "High Fiber Diet.". Resonance, Big Figure #2 and Big Figure #5 were accepted into the show. Hooray!
The exhibit will be displayed at The Point, Center for Arts and Education at C.C. Young from March 30 to April 22, 2013. The show will be judged by Cynthia Padilla, a talented local fiber artist and instructor whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Saturday was the opening of the "Art in Fiber 2013" at the Copper Shade Tree Gallery in Round Top, Texas. It was wonderful to see "Tuning Fork #10" hanging in such a beautiful space with the work of so many other Texas fiber artists. And I thoroughly enjoyed mingling with the crowds, both fellow artists and customers.

Debbie and Gerald Tobola have a lovely gallery and are great supporters of fiber art. They were fabulous hosts. And Julie Mafei and Angela Allen treated us to a brunch at the historic Menke House at Festival Hill on Sunday.

Julie Mafei is in the front row, far right.
I was lucky to be invited to stay at The Bootstrap B & B with a group of artists. I got to spend some time with several old friends, and even made some new ones.

Last week I started to sew again. In part (or perhaps because) I attended the Trinity Valley Quilt Guild annual retreat at Tanglewood Hotel and Spa in Pottsboro, Texas. Three full days of good fun, good fellowship and I think some good sewing.
The first piece is a log cabin.
This second piece was inspired by the fabrics. I had dyed an 8-step gradation from chartreuse to red violet and I decided to use the fabrics in a piece that highlighted the gradation.
I also started another Tuning Fork quilt. No pictures yet.
