Tuning Fork #24

Tuning Fork #24 is finished -- at least the top is sewn together.  Although I'm still flip-flopping about the orientation.  I rather like it this way:
But it also looks good this way:
I guess I'll have to wait until I quilt it and see.

On a sadder note, TF #22 was not selected for Quilt National.  The bright side of that is that I can now post a picture:
TF #22, 45" x 63"
On a really positive note, Tuning Fork #19 was juried into SPUN., at Etui Fiber Arts in Larchmont, New York.  The exhibit will open October 17.

Just from looking at the pictures I prefer the orientation where the blue goes top-down. I know the feeling - frequently I keep turning my tops over and over before I decide!

Condolences and kudos! I had the same news.....rejected from QN and accepted into SPUN.
Your piece would have been a wonderful addition to a show that frankly for my taste is getting a bit stale...... keep up the great work!

I like the new piece horizontal -- seems to vibrate more. This past year, I've had the same quilt judged 3 different times and each review is totally different -- all in the eyes of the beholder, as they say!

Yes, congratulations into SPUN and I'm sorry you didn't make QN. You surely should have. Great jobs!!

Thanks, everyone! You are all too kind!
Sorry and Cograts in the same breath!

I am going to be a bit different. I like the blue with the dark on the top. It looks like light shimmering beautifully on a tranquil midnight lake.

Whichever way it ends up, it is stunning in the use of color.

Heather, I feel your pain... I hate getting the thanks but no thanks without any explanation as to why.
The first orientation was sort of organic like sky or water, so it spoke to me more. Hope we see each other at Houston again, are you coming to the Quiltart meet up?
I also discovered a new to me mystery writer on cd... Rita Mae Brown, thought since we both like bbc mysteries, you might like listenening.

Leanna, I love Rita Mae Brown! And I will be at Houston, the whole Festival including set up on Tuesday. I plan to go to the QA meet up and there is a SAQA meet and greet as well.

I'm really not upset by the rejection. I've had a really good year, and I will try QN again next time!

I lean to liking second photo's orientation. Not a strong lean. Sorry about QN: keep trying! Cheers on SPUN!
