The 31 Day Blog Writing Challenge

Cheryl Sleboda of Muppin.com posted a challenge on Facebook several days ago.  She has committed to writing a blog post every day during the month of December.  Why?  According to Cheryl "Well, I can probably make 1000 excuses EVERY month that I’m too busy to start something like this.  If I can do 31 days during December, I can do this at any time.  The time management skills I’m going to make habits are going to serve me long after the challenge is done."

"Brilliant!"  I thought.  "I can do this, too." After all, it's quick and easy to write a blog post.  They don't all have to be literary or artistic masterpieces.  Hmmmm.

I should mention that when I read Cheryl's Facebook post, I was in the passenger seat of our car, which was hurtling through the aftermath of Winter Storm Cara.  Brian and I had spent Thanksgiving in Evergreen, Colorado, and were driving back to Fort Worth.  It was a 12 hour drive that ended up taking about 15.  So you could say that I was emotionally weakened by the stress of traveling on bad roads and the sheer tedium of a very long car ride. But more about that later.....

I am committed, though, really.  When I wrote this post this morning, I realized that it had been three weeks since I had written.  Like Cheryl, I need to make this a habit.  And if I commit, then despite holiday preparations, celebrations and house guests, I will make the time to write a post every day.

At least that's the plan.  Why don't you join in?  It's going to be a great challenge!  Click here for more information.
