Hot off the sewing machine...

This small quilt has been sitting in a pile in my studio since last October.  I've been so busy piecing Ruins 1 and Tuning Fork 11 that  I hadn't made time to quilt it.  Well, it's time has come!

Line Study 1, 56" x 42"

I finished it today, and I'm glad I did!  I think it's rather good.

I've linked this post to "Off the Wall Friday" on Nina Marie's blog,  Crazy Mom Quilts  "Finish it Friday" and Richard & Tanya Quilts "Link a Finish Friday."

"Rather" would be an understatement. Lovely piece. I like your use of lights and darks--very dramatic and distinctive.

It's definitely modern art. =) Great lines. I notice it's only the first one you plan.

Absolutely beautiful use of color and scale of the various pieces. And the linework is very exquisite! Gosh Heather you are in a very sweet spot, right now. Keep going!

I like this so much. Love the line work and values. It reminds me a bit of cubism and some fantastic improv quilts from about 100 years ago. I came over from Richard and Tanya's and look forward to seeing more of your work!
