Please send good thoughts Kippers' way....

My little studio assistant is having surgery today.  Three weeks ago, while we were in Colorado for Thanksgiving, she dislocated her kneecap. The kneecap will not stay in its socket, and it is causing her pain, so she is having surgery this morning. The worst part of the whole thing is that she will have to live in a kennel for four weeks while recovering. No jumping, running, or playing.

She's a spunky little girl and she has managed to get around and to run and play like a normal kitten. Even though she can't put weight on her rear left leg, she can't sit on her haunches, and she can't jump onto a chair or the bed without assistance.  She's adopted this "Odalisque" pose when lounging around the house, which I find rather charming.

We are glad we are getting this taken care of and that she will be back to normal soon.
How am I going to manage in the studio without my little studio assistant?

What a cute cat. She reminds me of my late calico cat, who was also so sweet. I hope all goes well and she is back to normal soon.
